Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I posted again, I got on an active streak and wanted to fill you in on the progress of, my life!! I just finished up the Eloy Take Two documentary, it screened at the Real Rasquatche Film Festival in Pasadena and I am now completing a website for the artist, where you can check out here. I also have finished a TV Show Sizzle Reel, and I hope to be able to put that up online soon so you guys can check out this killer pitch we put together for this show, and hopefully it gets picked up! Also have worked on some side projects, another TV Show Sizzle Reel, collabo effort on a website for the 40ozfreaks, some light graphic design for the Eloy Take Two Poster while trying to squeeze out a treatment for a film I’d love to pitch. It’s been a wild three or four months of work, and I look forward to being apart of more projects. Keep pushing and until next time.

Go Get Her Films

Recently just worked with Kerry Westcott from GoGetHer Films, on a couple projects, both music videos that are unofficial but do not lack quality. Shot with the Canon Mark 5D, she is a director with art direction that pushes the feeling to another level, hopefully we can work on future projects, but for now check out her works and the videos we worked on together on my Music Video page. New Mediums

Currently this week, working with upcoming music video director, Kerry Westcott (GoGetHerFilms), editing two concept videos that will be posted in the portfolio section. Also putting the final touches on ‘Eloy Take Two’ and wrapping up the content, getting it ready to play later in June at the Pasadena Film Festival. With all these new works and relationships, I am seeking fresh inspiration and avenues. It feels good to work, and especially to work with other great artists. I will also be launching a couple websites for these artists as well as begin to mold our new production company, Staci and I have created, Pens & Needles. You can check out the logo on the right side of this site, and soon it may be a link, so keep your mouse hovering over it from now and then, you might be surprised to see a white finger letting you touch it!! Five dollar foot longs and chicken breasts, make a life of work less stressed, keep digging!

Eloy Take Two

Well, it’s been a good while since I’ve posted last, so I thought I’d update the server with the latest and greatest. We are still working towards raising money for our, Smog City film, and we are getting good results, with our own efforts of saving and earning money we should be ready to shoot in around four months. Progress is better than no progress, they say, and in the meantime I am helping others finish their projects and seeing what networks are available through that. Currently I am working with Roberto Oregel on one of his projects called, ‘Eloy Take Two’, which is a follow up documentary on the life of Los Angeles Chicano muralist artist Eloy Torrez, who doubles as a painter and musician. I will be adding the teasers and trailer to my portfolio area once completed, we should be wrapping up in early May. Things are up and down, but that’s the way the boat rocks, as your captain I’m keeping my eyes on the horizon looking for that silhouette of new land, I’ll keep you updated, but for now, that’s the news.

Haywyre That Box!!

Recently I have hooked up with Haywyre, to complete his myspace layout and his website. Totally custom div layout, every inch was decided by the two of us, and it looks clean as can be. This guy has some great music, perfect tunes to get your mind back into the right place. Go check him out, I will be working closely with him to develop his website, this guy is definetly going to go somewhere with this music, it get’s yeah in the middle of your soul!! I wanted to go ahead and make a ‘New Years Post’ to follow up on my pre new year statement, and all is going well. Just got the pricing earlier today on the children’s books, we have a couple options on quality that differentiate prices, but it’s nice to finally see some numbers. May wait a little while until we actually produce the book, since we are now in the first stages of shooting our feature film!! I have put together the first scene and will be shooting next week, I still need to check out the location but after that it is off to scheduling and getting this ball rolling!!

2010 is feeling, looking and turning out to be the productive year I want and need. I look forward to all the new opportunities and experiences, ‘blasting bottle-caps, sailor!’

Kimchi and Beer

Lately I have been addicted to Korean films, since I am half Korean, I have in a way realized why my mind thinks of stories in such mannerisms, I’m not to say that all asian filmmakers think a like, but I feel a close connection to the works of Chan-wook Park. ‘Old Boy’, an astonishing film that should not be missed, has everything I could ever dream of in a film, all in one. Action, Beautiful Cinematography, Crazy characters and a plot line that twists your insides around, plus the puzzling ending that leaves you questioning your own morals. A masterpiece, and if you have any respect or interest in PERFECT cinema, this is a film you must see. If you die without seeing this film, you possibly have never experienced a captivating film. Regardless of the horrible English Dub placed over the piece, the film is brutally amazing. I’ve also check out his film, Lady Vengence, yet another film that’s story is dark and beautifully done. Next on the list is… Mr. Vengence, I wonder if there is a connection. I now have a higher respect for my mother’s culture for I’ve seen something that I have interest in and enjoy!! Expand your horizon, check out Chan-wook Park, it’ll make you question American film.

New Years Resolution

This new years has not come yet, but when it does, I’m starting off on a good foot. A lot of productions already in hand, I will be multitasking like no other this year, and I can say finally, it has come. Things to look forward to, feature film, the first installment to hopefully a long line of films, this one being as provocative and dark as I can get, reaching to the lowest of lowest standards and extremities, I possibly will be able to stir up, with the little funds provided. Excited to work with new talents and artists, and get this thing rolling, if vision goes to plan, or atleast half as according to calculations, it should be a fun film that hopefully catches on as a cult classic.

Another venture, will have to be our children’s book, listed below, I’m going to redesign the elements I’ve put in place for the book, and give it more depth, and brighter colors. After pricing, we will go to advertising and see how it places on the market. It’s a cool book, that any infant will not be able to ignore!! All those years of drawing and designing will hopefully pay off..

Video works, I have been working with a couple artists lately who have area to grow and talent to show for. Hopefully if these projects continue, we will see a stronger relationship and greater developments arise from these sources. Like always, you will be able to track the works and progress I have done with such peoples, right here, on the site.
